Who do you want as the next U.S. President?

June 22, 2011 Posted in News | 71 comments
Who do you want as the next U.S. President?

As the 2012 presidential elections approach, new contenders for the Presidency are making themselves known. With the President’s approval ratings being so low, it ought to make for a very close election. We are campaigning for a true Christian candidate to run.

A new Zogby poll of probable Republican primary voters shows Congresswoman Michel Bachmann, the relatively unknown candidate, is in the new leader. Still another recent poll by the National Association of Evangelicals indicates Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty is winning the critical Evangelical vote. Surprisingly, there is a different leader in our online poll, Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann.

Among caucus voters in Iowa whose vote starts the official primary election season, Bachmann is tied with Mitt Romney. We are looking for a true Christian candidate to support.

Who do you think is the best Presidential candidate? Who are you are most excited about? The poll closes June 30th.

Passion for your candidate is absolutely critical. This can really impact the primary, so be sure to let your voice be heard and get your Christian friends and family involved.

A true Christian professes faith in Jesus Christ and upholds biblical doctrines and morality, especially regarding traditional marriage and the sanctity of life.

We want to hear from you! Who do you think is the best true Christian candidate? Who you would vote for if the election were held today? Please take our poll below.

Click here to take our June poll.

  • Scott says:

    Perry- Bachman!!

  • Sharon says:

    I hope he runs.

  • Cheryl Watson says:

Tim Pawlenty was interviewed on the 700 Club June 23, 2011. He said that he has accepted Jesus as Saviour. Also, Michelle Bachmann has a relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Morris says:

Michele Bachmann holds strong Christian family values she’s not afraid to stand up for, very much favoring her as the Republican nominee for President, perhaps Allen West or Rick Perry for VP. I’m hoping that if Sarah Palin does not announce her own candidacy, she will throw her considerable political clout into the Bachmann campaign. Whichever candidate wins the nomination, Christians need to pray like never before that King Obama will not continue his devastating reign.

  • Calvin Kruse says:

Is Rick Perry against the redefinition of marriage?

    • Victoria DeLacy says:

Since Perry is a Christian who is scheduled to lead the National Day of Prayer this year, I’m sure that he is for protecting traditional marriage, In addition, he is fully pro-life as well.

      • Robert says:

IN my opinion you cannot be firmly “pro-life” and still support illegal wars that have (and still do) killed millions of innocent civilians and thousands of soldiers. The Bible may support just war, but preemptive invasion, without real proof of any threat, is not a just war. Perry maybe anti-abortion, but he is still pro-death for our soldiers and pro-murder for innocent Iraqi and Afghani civilians.

    • M.B. says:

I attended the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans last week. Rick Perry was the last speaker and the most forceful (which is what we need to defeat Obama), and he said we Republicans need to stop apologizing for our stand on traditional marriage between 1 man and 1 woman. He also said this on other issues especially Pro Life.

    • vicki says:

Rick Perry is for traditional family Values. I think he just signed the pledge to defend the Defense of marriage between Man & Woman or what ever it is called. In otherwards, I believe he is agaisnt same sex marriage. I hope this reply maks sense.

  • Kevin Nelson is the truest Christian Candidate running.

    • Krista says:

Maureen, He may surely be a Christian, but please research Christians who hold to the Christian doctrine of not returning evil for evil – then research these pre-emptive political wars we’ve been waging for the past decades and it’s only getting worse under the guise of whe war on terror and the like. This Christian author writes much on the subject of Christianity and War. This is called the warmongers fruits of the Spririt: http://lewrockwell.com/vance/vance248.html

  • Kevin Nelson says:

Thanks Maureen! Others- please learn why Maureen left the comment she did. Look up ‘Kevin Nelson 2012′ today. Thank You!

  • Joseph Allen Kozuh says:

I’m from Texas and I think Bachmann has deep Christian principles. However, I think Risk Perry is of “politician” when it comes to his principles … .

    • Joseph Allen Kozuh says:

CORRECTION: I’m from Texas and I think Bachmann has deep Christian principles. However, I think Risk Perry is a “politician” when it comes to his principles … .

  • Gary says:

Tim Pawlenty has won twice in a blue state and has developed strong executive experience over 8 years. He and his wife Mary are both committed Christians. He understand the importance of our nation “turning toward God” as opposed to walking away from God.

    • richbrfl says:

Thanks for the insight re: Pawlenty’s Christian beliefs. Those, and not whether he can win in a blue state, is what will I believe we as Christians must focus on. (Who ever would have thought a small state guv such as Carter or Clinton could win the presidency?)

  • Ron says:

    Dr. Ron Paul 2012!

  • David says:

    Bachmann-Perry Overdrive!

  • Bill Wortman says:

Rick Perry is an internationalist like Newt and other Rinos, remember he pushed for the NAFTA Highway and tried to block the present vote against TSA fondling (only allowed it to be brought up in the Special Session after thousands of Emails)

  • Pat says:

Not only does every one of Bachmann’s actions reflect an authentic Christian faith, but she belongs to a church with doctrine that is rock solid. Having studied many, many denominations, her church is my first choice. I have seriously been considering switching to her church. And she has courage.

  • Diana says:

    Pawlenty-Bachman

2016: Allen West – Paul Ryan
    or
    Mike Pence – Eric Cantor

  • Sherry says:

Michelle Bachmann has proven herself, and she has a record that can be scrutinized which reveals her strength of character and whether or not she is true to her word. Someone of Godly character who will take the oath of office seriously to uphold our Constitution and the rule of law in the spirit of our Founding Fathers is who I am looking for as a presidential candidate. For quite a while I have been interested in a Bachmann/Cain ticket. I have not heard of Kevin Nelson; I will peruse his web site. However, if he is to be a candidate to seriously consider, people need to know of him. Has he officially entered the race? Will he be participating in any of the many upcoming debates? Or is he being ostracized like Alan Keyes?

    • Krista says:

Sherry, I realize you think M. Bachmann is a lovely Christian, but did you know she doesn’t uphold our constitution like you suppose? She voted to extend the Patriot Act which means she is a traitor to the constitution along with everyone else that promotes that most unconstitutionally correct piece of unrighteous legislation our country has ever encountered. I thought people like you and others would be opposed to the TSA and other such policies that are just the beginning of us being sold into bondage with the stripping of our rights. Research the Patriot Act, maybe through some informed person like Rand Paul called: “A Government Of Angels”? (Ron Paul’s Son Gives The Best Education About The Patriot Act I’ve Ever Heard)
      http://ronpaulite.com/?p=288

  • Victoria DeLacy says:

Perry is leading the National Day of Prayer this year and is fully pro-life – what a refreshing change from the man who celebrated Ramadan in the White House while rejecting the National Day of Prayer – Rick Perry of Texas for President!

    • Krista says:

Victoria, Here is a very thought provoking video to watch regarding the history and voting record of Rick Perry. Please watch it and think about whether he should be our next president. According to this he is just another showman politician. If you want any honest Christian politician, please look elsewhere: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SB8evaZ7zDI Please consider the Fact and not the lies about Ron Paul 2012. Here is a Christian web site about Ron Paul: http://ronpaulite.com/?p=242

  • Coral Rose Shipley says:

    thank you

  • Wesley says:

    Ron Paul

  • Carolyn DuPriest says:

Obama is no Christian…he is a Muslum by his own admission. You cannot be both, Jesus said you either for me or against me. His whole background is Muslum and the Koran hates Christians and Jews. If you leave the Muslum religion, you are an infidel and deserve death, so how does Obama handle this, Muslums kill anyone who leaves their religion and turns to Christiany. I would like an answer.Carolyn D.

  • Clarence says:

    Michelle Bachmann for President

  • Clarence says:

I think Michelle Bachmann is a true Christian who would do all she could to turn this country around.

    • Krista says:

Maybe she’s a Christian and has lots of nice Children, but what is here voting record? She voted to extend the Patriot Act. Research and learn what that means. This is very grave serious heart wrenching business here. Watch this video please, by Senator Rand Paul Called “A Government Of Angels”? (Ron Paul’s Son Gives The Best Education About The Patriot Act I’ve Ever Heard)
      http://ronpaulite.com/?p=288

  • Carlottta says:

Mitt Romney because Bauchman bows down to the Koch brothers so they say on the tv news anyway. Not Obama for sure.

  • William says:

    Allen West is the man.

  • President: Sarah Palin, who has proven herself as an effective administrator on the town and state levels. She is a Christian.

VP: Michelle Bachmann, who has served successfully as a legislator. Historically, she would have a slim chance of being elected as president. She is a Christian.

  • Robin says:

Another flake for Bachmann. Let it snow!

  • Joy says:

I am very impressed with Herman Kane !!

    • Krista says:

Joy, Herman Cain approves of the unconstitutiona federal reserve which is a huge problem in our government and economy. Many people are starting to speak out against it. Ron Paul for one will end it when he is President. Here is a short video to hopefully help you get some more information on what people are saying about the Federal reserve. Herman Cain was a Chairman: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJ3K-f-3HeE

  • Jim says:

I thinks a West/Palin ticket would win. Since Alan will honor his constituents I could support a Palin/Cain ticket. We need a strong military background for our next president. One who knows the enemy well and not in bed with them.

    • Krista says:

Jim, here is an article I enjoyed very much that was written by a Christian auther who often writes on Christianity and War. The issues he brings up have been a real eyeopener for me. I believe the enemy we are supposed to be afraid of is mostly a political ploy to usurpt more control over the American people. The War on Terror is not a righteous war if ever a war could be called righteous. There is a lot to research on this issue. Non-interventionalism is what our founding fathers were in formost favor of, not pre-emptive war. Here’s the article called the The Warmongers Fruit of the Spirit: http://lewrockwell.com/vance/vance248.html

    • Harold says:

NO! NEVER PUT ALLEN WEST ON A TICKET!!! We want to keep him here in our district. Hes the best Congressman we will have represent us lol.

      I prefer a Ron Paul/Allen West ticket.

  • Morris says:

Reading through these comments again, I’m wondering if those in favor of Mitt Romney and Herman Cain realize that both of them have REFUSED to sign a pledge stating that if elected President, they will make only PRO-LIFE nominations and appointees. Due to RINO Romney’s consistent flip-flopping on abortion, he’s simply holding true to form, distrusting everything he says. I actually considered Herman Cain until learning he also refused to sign this pledge, no longer trusting him either.

    • Krista says:

Morris, another important issue concerning Mitt Romney is his unconstitutional stance on the Patriot Act. This is a video of Dr. Rand Paul speaking against the Patriot Act. It is very informative. It’s called: “A Government of Angels?” http://ronpaulite.com/?p=288 Here’s Mitt Romney speaking on the Patriot Act too:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjaXfwuGmxg I wonder what he thinks of Patrick Henry’s famous quote: “Give me liberty or give me death?” Romney “…and if it means we have to go into a mosque to wi…retape or a Church than that’s exactly where we’re going to go because we are going to do whatever it takes to protect the American people. And I hear from time to time people say, hey wait a second, we have civil liberties we have to worrry about, but don’t forget, the most important civil liberty I expect from my government is my right to be kept alive and that’s what we’re going to have to do.” Also Herman Cain is compromised in the issue of not being against the federal reserve.

  • Raymond says:

Congressmen and Medical Doctor Ron Paul is the most actively pro-life candidate as he has written 2 books and 3 bills for the cause and I reccomend looking them up. One bill, would essentially overturn Roe v. Wade by declaring that the Federal Government has no right to recognize th “Right to Abortion” as it what not founded in our constitution. This would give the power to states, and some states would no doubt, outlaw abortion! The next was a bill to recognize life at the point of conception. The third was to defund all planned parenthood type projects so that we wouldn’t have to pay for murder. Beyond that he delivered 4,000 of gods children, often working for a Catholic Church(He is now a babtist) and never once considered abortion. His stance on Marriage would effectively not allow any gay union to be recognized by the government. He is also the most princpaled and the most peaceful candidate, who’s thirty year record reflects that of a highly principaled follower of Christ. God will bless those who harbor peace, and our other christian leaders have forgotten that a more peaceful foreign policy is possible and perfectly safe in comparrison. Bachman may have values but she doesn’t have the knowledge, skill , and background to properly apply our principals. Perry is just a politician.

    • Robert says:

Its worth noting that he worked in a free charity hospital for the Catholic Church, not the church itself. He was giving of his time, talents, and money to better serve God’s children and better show charity, the “pure love of Christ”, by his works.

  • samuel foday says:

Any candidate that will bring God’s standards back and up hold the constitution of one nation under God and what He says is right for a nation i will perfer.

  • retiredcoach says:

We are not ready for a female President- before we ever have a female Vice President! So, Bauchmann or Palin- VP! God will open the door for the next Christian Conservative President!
The reason I say this -is that God is going to give America one more chance for a revival and knock down the immoral leaders and laws for gays and abortion, and honor the leaders who support Israel! The clock of the “end days” is running!

    • Krista says:

retiredcoach, here is a great article that was on a Christian site I enjoy about the biblical view of the Christian supporting the state of Israel. I hope it is informative and helpful to you. Keep researching the candidates. I know I have chosen Ron Paul to be the Champion of the Constitution. Here is the article: http://www.newswithviews.com/baldwin/baldwin423.htm

  • Sandruel White says:

It is a shame that a candidate will hide behind the mask of being a Christian, in order to get votes, once in the White house, a President will often change his/her view of what initially had been said. The President has only so much power and is not the King, and is in control of other parts of the Govermental party. People, the White House was filty of various corruptions before President Barak Obama was elected and cannot be blamed on him. I have my thoughs whethere positive or negative on the same sex marriage vote, God is the Finale Judge of the people. At this time stand up for your President Barak Obama! Perverse sexual relationships between the same sex is promoted and endorsed by the evil one whom is going across all boundaries to corrupt the minds of God people, one is not born to desire the same sex, this is against the will of God Almighty. What is hide in the darkness will come to light, I pray that God will bless and touch the mind of our President Barak Obama and other Presidents behind him, in Jesus Name I pray, Amen!

  • James Maxwell says:

I love Bachmann and the morals that she stands for. I am also intrigued by Perry and Santorum…!

    • MItch says:

Please, I beg you and everyone, PLEASE look into Perry’s record in Texas! He has DOUBLED the size of the Texas government in his time as governor. He forced girls to receive a vaccine called Gardisil that was killing young women who received it in the trials, on record! He received an award from the Mexican president for setting up sanctuary cities in Texas, a blatant disregard for the U.S.’ sovereignty, people, or its laws. Please look into him, then please look into the solid record of people like Ron Paul, a strict fiscal constitutionalist!

  • Krista says:

Ron Paul is a true Believer and an outstanding Presidential candidate. He exibits the fruit of a Christian life. What other candidate acts like he does? He is real. He’s not a traitor to the constitution and that is what we want in a president. Read this article here by his son Rand Paul about the unconstitutional Patriot Act, which many of your beloved candidates voted for or approve of, but Ron and Rand Paul are some of the few in government who don’t. It’s called: “A Government Of Angels”? (Ron Paul’s Son Gives The Best Education About The Patriot Act I’ve Ever Heard)http://ronpaulite.com/?p=288
We’re not voting for the Pastor of our Church, but here is a pastor that had a great website he dedicates to Ron Paul. It has excellent Christian articles about him. Here is one called: Ron Paul On Christianity, Morality & War (& Neo-Wars)
http://ronpaulite.com/?p=242 Just Ron Paul’s reluctance to promote himself constantly makes his life of integrity shout above the other candidates. He practices what he preaches and he has his voting record to prove it. He’s not ashamed to say he gets to His God through Jesus Christ. He’s honest, kind spirited and a peacemaker. He believes in the sanctitiy of life for the born and unborn. He is Anti-war, non-interventionalist, even during the Bush Administration. His voting record shows he is against large out of control Government and DOS NOT believe our government is our God, Daddy or Conscience. Many issues belong in the Church and at least at the State level not the Federal. Look at what the feds did with Roe vs. Wade. They made all states observe legalized murder. Besides that, his actions go before him again and again. In otherwords he is a TRUE Believer.

  • Krista says:

A Christian is a person who trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and receives grace and mercy and repentance unto life and then can come boldly before the throne of Grace. A Christian is a person who is saved from the wrath of God and will one day spend eternity with the Lord where there will be no more crying or death or sin. Jesus’s Kingdom is not of this world, nor is our country a Theocracy. Our President is not the Pastor of our Church. It is not the duty of the President to make Americans be good. It is his duty to uphold the constitution. Our US Constitution is a wonderful document and we need a president who will serve us tirelessly in government where he has the lawful jurisdiction to perform his Presidential authority to see that that document is followed. The reason some Christians may fear Ron Paul is because they are not really informed on how he stands on many issues and it is up to you to become informed because he is the only candidate that is speaking the truth. He has NOT voted on the Patriot Act as M. Bachmann has. He knows the Federal Reserve (find out what Herman Caine thinks of this) is destroying our money system – leading to the downfall of our country. He knows these wars are illegitamate and are unconstitutuonal. Don’t believe the lies about the so called war on terror, it’s a politicaly motivated lie! Don’t believe the lies about Ron Paul! That is what the enemy wants, whether that enemy is Satan or the ungodly powers that be. Everyone is afaid of Ron Paul. Find out why. It’s because he is telling the truth! Try looking up at least this one link managed by a Christian Pastor: Ron Paulite Dot Com: http://ronpaulite.com/?p=242 There is a lot of good information out there. For every slander against Ron Paul there is a video or article with dispels the propagand. You will split the vote and Obama will win if you don’t vote for Ron Paul. Please think!

  • Bluegillmaste says:

Ron Paul was right in 2008 – and will continue to be right in 2012!

  • Greg Butko says:

RON PAUL in 2012. Dr. Paul is the only candidate who is not bought and paid for by the special interests. And I think Ron Paul is the best example of what a Christian should be.

  • Michael says:

    Dr.Ron Paul 2012

  • MItch says:

Ron Paul, the man who has delivered 4,000 babies and counseled mothers considering abortion to choose other means like adoption! The man who would NOT tax YOU to pay for abortions! The man who has a deep understanding of free market economics and history, and who has been preaching the Christian Just War Doctrine for years!

There is NO other presidential candidate who would radically reform our government to give us back our freedoms, than Ron Paul. If all you know about him is stuff that came from Fox News, CNN or ANY MSM, please, check him out for yourself online, because as Sarah Palin said this week, “the media lies!”

  • Bonnie says:

Krista hits the nail squarely on the head. I hope everyone of you will heed her comments. I’ve found in life that most believe what “feels good” without checking the facts. Even then, they reject the facts because they “want” to believe what they believe. Do check every link Krista posted. Don’t be idiots that believe everything they want to believe. If we sincerely want a Christian president, then REPENT of your personal sins and turn from your wicked ways.

  • daniel rotter says:

Ron Paul wants to abolish the C.I.A., and OPPOSES the Civil Rights Act of 1964. If he is the GOP nominee for 2012, Obama would eat him for lunch (figuratively speaking, of course, lol).

    • Patrick Henry says:

@Daniel Rotter, then let Obama be our next president if that’s who you want. If it really has to get worse than it already is to open your eyes, then so be it. In the words of George Orwell, “The Nationalist not only does not disapprove of atrocities committed by his own side, but he has a remarkable capacity for not even hearing about them.” George Orwell Does it make you feel good to be the fulfillment of this prophecy? Any person who voted for or supported the (so called) PATRIOT Act is deserving to be tarred and feathered, and in my age it was not uncommon practice. It should be revived.

  • Kim says:

Ron Paul! He is the ONLY candidate that’s NOT bought and paid for!

  • Patrick Henry says:

ALL CANDIDATES running for president except for Ron Paul have supported the (so called) PATRIOT Act. It was voted for sight unseen and without hearings. Obviously, those persons SHOULD be tarred and feathered. Blatant unconstitutional Oath Breakers are the evil, domestic enemy all Oath Givers have sworn to uproot. Ron Paul, is the undisputed Champion of the Constitution.

    • Bob says:

I agree Ron Paul appears to be a constitutionalist (a good thing) and rails against many of the things gone wrong (also good), but convince those that have reservations that if he does everything he says with regards to foreign relations, defense and our measures for national security that we won’t be transformed in a pre-WWII America that allowed a situation to develop that eventually sucked us in to a major war and cost millions of people their lives. Be specific please. This is an honest request for info.

  • BettyLiberty says:

Ron Paul! Strict constitutionalist and vehemently pro-life.

    • Bob says:

But, is Ron’s position on what constitutes marriage Biblical?

And, if anyone thinks that those at the forefront of redefining marriage aren’t the same ones that are working to suppress the Gospel in the public arena they need to do their homework. Check out wnd.com and onenewsnow.com to start.

  • Bob says:

Anyone considering voting for a libertarian candidate needs to read the following first:

Christianity and Libertarianism: Do they belong together?

    and,

    A Reply to Libertarianism

Christian Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann is the only true conservative candidate that talks the talk and walks the walk on BOTH Christian principles (all of them) and limited government.

  • Katharina Sri (ex Noor Aza) says:

Hopefully, the no-nonsense Republican Tea Party Herman Cain can reclaim back the once great America’s leadership of the world including, from this definitely ‘wittingly’ Islam-loving Dictator Obama traitor and also defeat Obama’s cunning racist politics to continue brainwashing especially Black & Hispanic Americans! For the sake of defeating this most dangerous Islam-loving Dictator of the US, Obama, I think only Herman Cain has the best chance because right now, Obama’s racist politics in brainwashing Black and Hispanics votes is a very dangerous game for America and the world, and if he wins again for another four more years. Then more world chaos by Muslim Brotherhood-controlled Islamic Dictatorship and conquest can be expected, including in the Islamization project of the US and the whole West. This will also include the championing by Obama of the vile Jew-hating Islamic Turkey into joining the EU, which he is actively doing now especially behind the scene, especially in duping his Dhimmi Cameron (Cameron’s liberalism has betrayed the Conservative Party and Churchill’s legacy)! For why Herman Cain’s potential is important to defeat Obama, see – http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/10/cain-romney_2012.html

    Cain-Romney 2012?
By Thomas Lifson: is editor and publisher of the American Thinker

………There are a lot of contingencies, and many of them are dependent on Herman Cain’s ability. But if he proves himself, and if a unified party with an enthusiastic base is necessary to win elections, the Republicans might even make their ticket Cain-Romney in 2012.

  • Audie C Gates says:

I endorse Ron Paul.I only wish he were more partial to Israel.

  • Robert says:

We must preserve our one nation under God, which I truly believe that He blessed us with. There is only one man with the knowledge, background, experience & expertise to soundly debate & defeat Obama. Newt Gingrich. He is a Christian, loves our country, & loves our Constitution. He has baggage, is a sinner, & so are all of you. You cast the first stone. Newt will overcome all criticism, & we should forgive him for his indiscretions, as God forgives us. We cannot forgive Obama because he is a murderer, a liar, & a possible anti-Christ.
