Every year we publish a list of the year’s top 10 most egregious acts of anti-Christian defamation, discrimination and persecution in America. Some things on the 2010 list might surprise you.
For example, a Christian journalist was fired for sending an e-mail from his personal account on his own time supporting traditional marriage. Two Christian women from two different universities were expelled from Master’s degree programs in counseling because they wouldn’t affirm the normalcy of a homosexual lifestyle. Two Christian men were murdered in Boynton Beach, Florida while sharing the gospel in their neighborhood.
Christians are being subjected to harassment, discrimination and persecution because of their faith.
YOUR VOTE COUNTS
Most Christians aren’t even aware of the attacks we mention in our list for 2011. This is a great opportunity to help equip them with the reality of anti-Christian bigotry and hostility in America.
Please, vote for the incidents you find most egregious then forward this article with the link to our survey to your pastor, and Christian family and friends and urge them to vote too.
We will be publishing the results of this poll to the whole nation. Voting ends December 31st.

How about top 20……they should all be in the top 10.
I agree wholeheartedly with you.
There are many more unreported acts of antiChristian crimes going on these days. Hidden employment discrimination for any Bible beleivers not lining up politically to support the overthrow of our previous Judeo – Christian basis of law & order. Pornographers have been behind this as well as feminists flooding into churches to seduce pastors or replacing them with PC antiBible alternatives.
All are out of line
We better get used to it for Christ also suffered.
Perhaps it’s an oversight, but in my e-mail about this poll, it’s states, “In 2010, Christians in America were murdered, fired, and persecuted for their faith.”
I don’t see any incidents of murder anywhere on the list, and honesty, I thought suffering for one’s faith was supposed to be met with joy and thanksgiving, not gathering a list of grievances and airing them for all to see.
Matthew 5 – 11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
continued- 44 “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven.”
I’m curious about the mission of the CADC. What verses of scripture is it’s mission founded on? For the life of me, I can’t find a single instance in the NT that remotely suggests that Christians strive to protect themselves from being persecuted or belittled for their faith, in fact, as the scriptures cited above show, just the opposite.
I doubt you’ll even post this response, but I can’t see any Biblical support for all this complaining.
Brian, are you suggesting that we in the west do nothing about our persecuted Christian brothers and sisters across the globe? …there are 2 billion Christians in the world today… 200,000,000 live with the threat of imprisonment and murder, whilst 400,000,000 live with non-trivial discrimination that sort of guarantees generational poverty and marginalization. We should be standing up for those without a voice… the innocent whether in a country under Sharia law, a totalitarian government or even “democratic” America should be defended.

Ian,
reading the New Testament, I still see no basis for Christians to complain about persecution, let alone use resources that could be used to fulfill the mandates given by Jesus in the Gospels. If anyone thinks leaving “Under God” out of the Pledge is persecution, or an Old Navy shirt that reads “It Gets Better” is persecution, they need to go back and actually read the Gospels and Acts again, slowly.
Like I said, there aren’t any Biblical passages that support complaining, and there are verses that support taking anything that comes in a spirit of meekness and humility as it is described in Hebrews chapter 12.
I doubt I’ll continue to attempt to argue my case here, the New Testament has already done so and Christians can either take Jesus at his word, or make up their own alternative reality where persecution is defined as “any time my beliefs are not given preference or contradicted”.
Luke 19:27
27 But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
KJV
Tony, lifting one piece out of a parable does not nullify the plain words I already posted,
Matthew 5 – 11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
continued- 44 “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven.”
If you were careful in your reading of Luke 19 you would see that Jesus was talking about the end of time when the angels gather up the remaining enemies of God to their fate. Until that day, Christians are nowhere commanded to complain about any suffering they might endure, actually, the opposite as the passages from Matthew above show.
We seem to live in a country where no one actually reads the Gospels and takes them seriously. Jesus was led like a lamb to slaughter, and Christians are told to be imitators of Christ.
He who lives by the sword, shall die by the sword.
Matt 12:28
28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.
KJV
The kingdom of God is here now. Christ Jesus became flesh to be executed to suffer our death penalty. Christians are to have dominion on earth as it is in heaven and Christians are not to imitate Christ to suffer a death penalty in place of Christ we cannot save anyone. Our enemies are not necessarily Christ’s enemies but the enemies of God are to be adjudicated as commanded in the Word. Christ Jesus is not a pacifist and neither should we be. Acts 5:4-6
4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.
6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
KJV
The old testament and the new testament are one Word and there is no separation between the two because God is not schizophrenic and changeable. The new testament relies on the old and it is the fulfillment of it what was then is now until;Acts 2:35
35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
KJV
Tony, that’s some pretty creative interpretation you’ve got there. I’d recommend reading Matthew chapters 5-7. The Old Testament was made null and void by the death of Jesus, and the church is not an inheritor of the promises of Israel’s earthly covenant.
Dominionist theology is a convoluted aberration in which men seek to use earthly means to achieve spiritual ends. It’s a sign of impatience with the timing of God’s plan and a fleshly solution to a spiritual battle. How can Jesus come back as a thief in the night if Christians are supposed to take over the worlds governments to usher in his Kingdom? It wouldn’t be hard to know the day and hour of Christ’s return if it all hinged on overthrowing earthly kingdoms.
Just like the apostles who walked and talked with Jesus, those who think they can usher in the kingdom by politics and force are minding the things of the flesh and not the things of the Lord.
Hear the words of Jesus,
20And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
21Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
Not with observation. The Kingdom of God is in the heart and can only be furthered by changing people’s hearts, not their political party or by instituting a theocracy.
It’s a shame more Christians can’t understand the plain teachings of Jesus. The Sermon on the Mount is all a Christian needs to know about living the life of obedience to Christ.
You said it, Elaine!
ANY TIME Christanity is bashed it NEEDS to be in the news ~ it happens daily somewhere in this country. Why? Because of spineless politicians and corrupted media and uninformed voters!!
In these last days the top 10 only scratches the surface.
You hit the nail on its head Pastor.
One that quickly comes to mind and is quite recent is the Christian worker who was fired from Macy’s department store when this individual did the right thing and prevented a trans-gender male from entering the women’s changing room.
If the persecution of ANY Christian or Christian organization can be curtailed and perhaps ended by making sure that what’s happening across the country is identified and exposed, isn’t that better than having Christian activities and the spread of the Gospel restricted and, in some cases, completely stopped? I would certainly think so, wondering why any genuine Christian would not wholeheartedly support the work Dr. Cass and his staff does to promote the truth. Shame on those who come here for nothing but to criticize, condemn and find fault with those who love God and His message. May God open your blind eyes.
RINOs and the entire left is anti-Christian and need to be made servants to those of us who have been consistent in our faith.
I believe all this has all come about because for many years many Christians have failed to share with their neighbors and friends, how to receive the gift of eternal life. (most have not even invited them to church) Many pastors share the blame by not training their congregation how to lead someone to the Lord and making disciples a high priority. Are we accountable? I think so. Mark 16:15 Eze 33:7-9
Yes; and we’ve suffered much less than in other countries. It’s OUR turn now–Get Ready, and don’t deny Him/Jesus. It won’t be long–Jesus IS coming soon! So be brave, keep yore Faith, and look up! This world is not our Home.
The GOP needs to be thoroughly purified. So many of the politicians only pay lip service to Christ’s teachings. The GOP must be transformed into God’s Own Party.
God doesn’t have a political party. Politics are the tools of the flesh and the Devil. Satan offered Jesus all the powers of earthly kingdoms in the wilderness and Jesus refused them, Christians today are trying like crazy to take Satan up on an offer their own Lord wouldn’t accept.
Politics are fueled by lies, and lies come from the father of lies, Satan. The Kingdom of God is within you, not in a political platform.
Matt 5:5
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
KJV
The Church is to inherit the earth as well as heaven. Jesus came as a thief in the night and bound up Satan for thousands of years and Satan is unable to fool the nations that Christ Jesus has chosen to believe in Him. The earth is the throne of our Lord and where the heart is on earth as it is in heaven is where the kingdom of God is. The flesh is not evil it is the desire of the flesh that is evil. It seems to me that you are on the Greek dualism mantra which is not truth but a lie.Matt 5:13
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
KJV
The new testament did not make the old testament null but affirmed it by Christ. If you look at a woman lustfully you have committed adultery. The law of God is in heaven and it stands forever also by which angels are to be judged thereof. I recomend that you re-think your theology and read the Bible more carefully. Politics are the concerns of God and if you live by pacifism you will die by pacfism!
I actually agree, Brian. I just feel that the sooner the mask of piety is ripped from the hypocrites, the sooner we can make the Earth a loving and loved home.
Allying themselves with the modern money changers buying into the “prosperity gospel” is the path away from Christ.
Wow, and I could think of so many more examples than just these few.
What about all those students (in both K-12, and at the university level) who were bullied for their Christian faith by thier gay activist teachers? You know that the new anti-bulling campaign led by Lady Gaga will offer no protection against the bullies like her.
You neglected to include the acts that are really damaging Christianity in this country.
The hypocrisy of many politicians who pander to the religious right while at the same time practicing adultery and making Christians look like fools.
You rail against homosexuals here (for good reason), but no mention of adulterers?
Regardless, none of these acts mentioned are significant. Christ told us to welcome those who transgress against us and to turn the other cheek, so I hold no malice to any of those mentioned above.
what of the christains in Nigeria? bombed on Chirstmas day during the Christmas service by some Boko Haram Fundamentalist? over a dozen dead!
It is sad that a once Christianity based culture has turned 180 degrees and is progressively becoming evolution believing self centered uneducated and non-thinking passives. Evolution makes no sense, it is a God hating religion that makes sinful mankind god.
