Controversy has erupted in Tampa, Florida. A public school teacher was discovered inviting a terrorist sympathizer into the classroom to give pro-Islamic lectures for the last three years.
Hassan Shibly is from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, CAIR, who is known to have ties with the Muslim Brotherhood. Their stated goal is to impose Islam on America by sabotaging the United States.
Shibly is on record standing up for the terrorist organization Hezbollah and defended a radical Imam who was killed after shooting at members of the FBI.
A platform should never be afforded to terrorist sympathizers in our public schools.
TAKE ACTION:
Help us demand that the school district, Governor and the State Congress discipline the teacher and bar CAIR’s access to their students. Please contact each group and individual below, and forward this information along to your friends and family members.

This is as unbelievable as it is outrageous, unable to understand how something like this is allowed to happen. I’ve contacted the Hillsborough County School Board as requested to express my outrage, also planning to contact Florida’s state representatives concerning the issue (I happen to be a Florida resident). I hope I may eventually obtain governmental responses and learn what action is taken. (This teacher should be fired and perhaps sued by parents.)
How about some more details.
If the teacher invited in a christian, a muslim, an atheist and maybe a Wiccan it might be very appropriate.
I must agree with RAMAUS on this one. While it may be an unacceptable risk to expose our children to not just the ideology of a terrorist sympathizer but to their very presence lest at some point the children are approached with violent intent, it seems unlikely that a teacher would knowingly expose them to such an active danger. If this man IS a terrorist, why was he not already in custody? If he was a known threat to children why did the government not ban him from schools as they do with other known child abusers and molesters? As RAMAUS suggests, we may not have all the facts here and need additional details before we start going to officials in outrage with a partial story. If we do write to them it should be a request for full disclosure and not to assume the worst intentions.
It may have been poor judgment and the teacher may not have debriefed the children by later discussing the strengths and gaping weaknesses in the man’s arguments. But the teacher may have had a positive agenda. Since the teacher has done this for three consecutive years, it might be time to do an impact study on students from the three classes to see if they remember the visitor and whether the influences were negative or positive.
RAMAUS also brings up a good point in asking our reactions had the teacher brought in people from other faith perspectives and ideologies including Christians? Did the teacher consider this from a religious perspective and so approach the discussions, or from a political one. If so, did the teacher also bring in persons with opposing points of view such as local politicians or those serving in non-elected offices, or in the military? Like RAMAUS, I am willing to give the teacher the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.
You are right in saying that there should be first a request for full disclosure on the part of the teacher/school district as to the motivation behind inviting this questionable (at best) speaker.
That being said, I didn’t hear anything mentioned about speakers with alternate views having been invited, only this particular one.
If there were others who were invited, then I agree it could be an interesting idea; my experience as a teacher myself in the Public School arena is that this was probably not the case. Schools and teachers today are given wide berths to indoctrinate students – in the name of “education,” “cultural relevance,” or “multiculturalism,” among other bogus topics – in every and any religion or political view – as LONG as it’s neither conservative or Christian (specifically). I would be more than willing to hear the teacher’s reasoning but am not so blind or naiive as to not recognize tacit indoctrination when I see and hear it.
It is unconscionable to think that this was going on in any of our public schools, really? Have some teachers, school officials and board members lost their minds!! What about keeping our kids safe? Not to mention teaching them GOOD things.
If the terrorists and radical Islamists ways of life are so pure and good, may I strongly suggest that the teacher and other officials of the school that allowed this to take place, (that is after being fired) please pack your bags and move to a country that supports the terrorists and radical Islamists!!! You would be doing this country a huge favor.
This is very unfortunate . Christians do not muslims but they do hate us. The same children should be taught the truth for an equal duration of time ,by a born again christian.
Correction ! Christians do not hate muslims , but they do hate us.
Michael Muchal, how can you call yourself a Christian and not follow in the footsteps of our Savior who told us not to hate but to love our enemies and do good to those who persecute us? It is true that Jesus was sometimes blunt with those who practiced hypocrisy but as the prophecy stated, a bruised reed will He not break. He knew how far to carry even His most scathing rebukes and never gave them without tender compassion and mercy in his demeanor. When people are in error without knowing the truth our response to them must be more careful than in dealing with those who know the truth and reject it in either word or action.
Now, this said, I hate the errors they espouse but love the people. When people are hated it is easy to want to attack them. When people are loved but hold false ideas, we can attack the erroneous ideas peaceably and logically and prayerfully. Thus we can destroy the ideas and save the people. Love your neighbor as yourself includes our Islamic neighbors. A different form of faith derived from Judaism was despised in the time of Christ too, but Jesus made the Samaritan the star of his story.
Sorry Michael Muchal, I should have read your statements and your self-correction more carefully. YOU do live what you believe as a follower of Jesus. See how easy it is for even a pastor to misread and misunderstand someone, especially at 2:15 in the morning. My apologies. I would delete my previous comment if I could. This retraction of recrimination I humbly offer in its stead.
Why has this teacher been allowed to bring this raghead jihadist into a classroom and spit out this muslim hatefilled propaganda, where were the school officals or the principle of this schoolor are they part of this propaganda scheme. This teacher and the jihadist should be arrested the teacher should be fired and put on trial for treason, the propagandist should be deported after he is imprisoned at Gitmo for howeveer long it takes to be tried
I think first you’d have to put our president on trial for treason. That’s where all this is starting from. He is standing with the Muslims (if not one himself, according to one of his books in which he says, when the rubber meets the road he will stand with them) and has kowtowed to them for so long – along with his administration – that the Muslim Brotherhood have been turned into tame “moderates” rather than the ones history have proven repeatedly that they are – people who don’t have regard for human life, freedom – for anyone but themselves – and liars (their own Koran supports lying to “infidels.”). Our current Administration is bowing down to them while being seen by them as weak and laughable, and we are leading the way for them to gain power and eventually take over – look at Europe if you don’t believe me! We need to seriously open our eyes before it’s too late!
