As we reflect on this year and eagerly anticipate the new, it is important that we keep a biblical perspective. No doubt for many this past year has been a great struggle. Some have experienced financial reversals, some physical setbacks and others relational difficulties, even the loss of loved ones. Of course, many Christians are heartsick because of the direction our nation is headed. But while these are very pressing concerns we must persevere and even rejoice. God does his greatest work on the anvil of our afflictions. Out of the fiery furnace of your trials, your faith produces an imperishable spiritual treasure. So Christian, look to the future with the utmost confidence knowing that God is at work. He will have His glory and will work all things together for your good. Remember that any sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. May the Lord crown your year with His goodness as we boldly stand together for Christ in 2010.
