As you stop to celebrate the birth of Christ remember that it was for liberty that Christ has set you free. The wonderful  message of Christmas is that whosoever will believe on Jesus Christ is free, free indeed. Free from sin and all its consequences. “Fear not,” the Christmas angel told the lowly shepherds, “ for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.” The Christmas gospel takes away our fear as we walk in the joyous freedom of the children of God, freed from death, hell and the grave!
As American Christians we are uniquely blessed with religious freedom in a world where 75 percent of the nations restrict religious expression. Thank God we are free in Christ and free to worship.
